Mobilus Labs named a “Most Promising Company” at the 20th Annual Rice Alliance Energy Tech Venture Forum

HOUSTON – Out of nearly 100 energy tech ventures, Mobilus Labs was selected by investors as one of the “10 Most Promising Companies” at the 20th Annual Rice Alliance Energy Tech Venture Forum hosted by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship on September 20-21, 2023. More than 70 investor groups participated in one-on-one meetings during Office Hours with companies and a total of nearly 700 meetings. From that, they chose 10 companies that represented the most promising based on those that have an innovative technology that is solving a large problem, have customers willing to pay for it and have the right team to build and grow their company.

Mobilus’ mission is to reinvent voice communications for frontline workers, empowering teams to communicate, collaborate, and enable digital workflows safely and effectively in any environment. The company is currently focused on the energy and manufacturing sectors, where improvements to safe communication and team productivity can have the greatest impact in improving safety, reducing downtime, and reducing project costs. To meet this challenge, Mobilus has deployed a hardware/software solution including their patented two-way bone conduction technology, the mobiWAN, an ear-free, noise-free, and intrinsically safe headset. The mobiWAN enables clear voice communication in and out of extremely noisy Industrial environments (95 dB+) and is compatible with both single and double hearing protection. Likewise, Mobilus’ voice communications software brings digital / VoIP to the field with a Push-to-Talk (PTT) software solution designed for the frontline workforce.

Jordan McRae, CEO of Mobilus Labs said “It’s an honor to receive the ’10 Most Promising Companies’ award and I see it as a testament to the dedication and innovation of the entire Mobilus Labs team. Our mission is to revolutionize the voice communication experience for frontline workers, the operators and laborers who build our world, and this award serves as validation of our commitment to making a positive impact. We are grateful for the support and belief in our vision, and we look forward to continuing our journey towards enhancing the lives of those who rely on effective voice communication in their daily work.”

For two decades, the Rice Alliance’s Energy Tech Venture Forum has remained the epicenter for connecting energy pioneers, visionary investors, forward-thinking corporations and the broader energy ecosystem. The September 21st event featured interactive panels, three keynotes and over 50 venture pitches, providing a platform to explore the cutting edge of energy technology.

Participating companies have raised more than $629 million in total funding and include technologies in Battery & Power Storage, CCUS, Chemical Manufacturing, Climate Fintech, Combustion, Energy Efficiency, Fluid Storage, Grid, Hydrogen, Materials, Mobility, Nuclear, Oilfield Technologies, Renewable Energies, Software, Water Treatment and more.
